The Brassy lad!!
I met him online, sounds like a cliche in today's world however right off the bat even before us meeting, in the talking stages itself, it never felt like I was talking to a stranger. We could talk for hours on end and I was charmed by his quick wit and humor.
One such conversation that comes to mind is when I suggested coffee after having spoken to him the entire night(almost) and his reply to that was,
"Coffee doesn't make sense now that you have already spent the night with me".
Any other girl would have taken offense however in my head this one line made me want to meet him even more. I know, I am not an average girl that way!
He was tall and charming, witty, funny and the most striking thing about him was his passion for his work. He was gonna build something that he could be proud of.
That was very new to me as I had never met anyone so passionate about their work. Goes without saying that the date went really well and we started seeing each other every week.
When we could not meet we would be on calls for hours, I would just be there on the phone with him listening to him go about his day.
Something about this guy was very different, all my life I met guys who would try to impress me with their flattering words.
The ones who may not be sincere in their feelings but were experienced enough to project otherwise...
This one however was a man in the truest sense, I was immediately drawn to everything about him, he was never too sweet but very honest and consistent in his ways.
He was not playing a game to woo me.. He was just being himself. He defied the fundamentals of romance as I knew(or thought I knew).
He challenged the notions every romantic movie / novel (that were an integral part of my growing up years) had imbibed in me.
It has only been three months since I met him, too soon for a lot of things but this I can say with absolute certainty that I have found a friend for life in him.
Maybe it is not about being swept off your feet(not saying that it didn't happen) however it is more about having somebody who helps you keep your feet on the ground and yet make you feel like it is all worthwile.
